Everyday Flares

Fashion

Ever since LFW I’ve been obsessed with flared trousers and although I have a pair of flared jeans (which I love) I haven’t got any flared trousers. I wasn’t sure what I’d pair them with on a normal day. But, I forged on and purchased this glorious pair that I feel are totally suited to everyday wear – not too flared and OTT, but flared enough that they aren’t just ‘bootcut’ jeans. Links to products and similar if I can't find the exact ones will be at the bottom of this post.

In the recent year flares have come to the forefront of everyone’s fashion favourites and I saw them so much at LFW. The ones I saw were super over sized and amazing, but for everyday wear not the most practical. That’s why I loved this pair that I picked up from Zara.

What I love about flares is that they are 1 cool, 2 still feminine and chic and 3 extremely elegant and flattering. What’s cool is they can accentuate a curvy shape, but work well for the less curvaceous, plus they make everyones legs look longer! Win.

I used to think that when wearing a flowy or less fitted item on your bottom half, you couldn’t do the same elsewhere. But the recent ruffles, frills and layering trends we have seen as of late have challenged this perception. I felt like trying this one shouldered wrap top, with the different lengths and cut of this top I thought it could be a good match for the flares.

I love that the top creates a depth to this outfit and rather than the flares being the one stand out piece its almost as if the outfit is all one. The layers and flares don’t just stick to the hem of my trousers but are found throughout the outfit. The tight waist of the top helps to elongate your legs and help the flares in creating that long elegant silhouette.

This bag I have had ever since I think I was about 14 and I bought it from Hobbs. Having never really used it because it just looked a little “Paris Hilton circa 2004” I put it to the back of my wardrobe. I got it out recently and I have always had a love of small bags, so I’ve decided to start using it with either an all pink cute ensemble or in a rather monochrome outfit like this, to inject some colour.

Im wearing my senso strappy heels with this outfit to give my legs that extra length. Also channel my inner victoria Beckham.
