Fresh Year, Fresh Face. My favourite cleansers and masks for 2017

Fashion

We are well and truly into the New Year but for me the beginning of 2017 has been full of travel and a whole host of different climates (not that I’m complaining). The weather and travel can both have an impact on your skin, that’s why I’m looking to keep my skin feeling fresh and rejuvenated now that I’m back in England. Fresh year, fresh skin! So I’ve tried and tested a fair few cleansers and face masks in the past month or so and I’ve narrowed this down to a few products I’m loving.

Omorovicza thermal cleansing balm
Ren Evercalm gentle cleansing milk
Eve Lom Rescue Mask
Ren Evercalm ultra comforting rescue mask
Elemis pro collagen cleansing balm

Cleansers...

Elemis Pro Collagen Cleansing Balm

What it claims to do:

Dissolve make-up, daily grime and pollutants. Intensely cleanse, nourish and renew skin for a glowing complexion. For all skin types.

How well it performed:

I came away from using this feeling like I had come away from a spa treatment/facial. My skin felt incredibly soft, the texture was perfect – a fairly thick product which meant I didn’t need a lot of product. I used the cloth that comes with the product to remove. Im not sure I’d use this as an everyday makeup removed type product – it feels more luxurious but does do the job of removing makeup indeed. I like the fact it’s a little tub, as I find lots of pump style products leave a lot left over at the end that you just cant get to.

A more expensive product, hence why this wouldn’t be more everday go to.

Ren Evercalm Gentle Cleansing Milk

What it claims to do:

Leave sensitive, delicate and reactive skin purified, calm and soothed.

How well it performed:

Now this is one I have used for pretty much as long as I can remember buying cleansers. I have always opted for Ren for everday usage. Their products are so great for people like me with sensitive skin. This cleansing milk I love, they have a similar product which is a gel but I found it leaves your skin very dry when you wash it off, unlike this cleansing milk. The product is super creamy without being oily, takes off all my makeup and doesn’t irritate my eyes at all. I would say there is less of a plumped firm feeling after usage, but it realy is a fabulous product.

Omorovicza Thermal Cleansing Balm

What it claims to do:

Detoxify and purify the skin. Remove all makeup, including waterproof mascara, and cleanse all skin types without stripping to leave the complexion soft, hydrated and radiant.

How well it performed:

So this one is one I really noticed the difference from, my skin felt much plumper and brighter after using. I read that you could leave this on for around 10 mins before fully removing. So a little dual usage there! The texture is very substantial and the best thing about this product is that, unlike other cleansers, it doesn’t strip your skin of any moisture and leave you feeling dry. It’s very hydrating and good for sensitive skin.

Masks...

Ren Evercalm Ultra Comforting Rescue Mask

What it claims to do

Specially developed to combat over-sensitivity, this rescue mask will calm, soothe and moisturise, helping to instantly alleviate the key signs of sensitive skin.

How well it performed:

Like the cleansing milk it’s a very creamy consistency which feels amazing on your skin. I noticed after using this product there was less redness in my skin and my skin tone looked super smooth and even toned. All in all I’m in on this product. Another great one from ren.

£28.00 - Found HERE

Eve Lom Rescue Mask

What it claims to do:

Clear congested skin and instantly brighten a dull complexion.

How it performed

I have the travel sized squeezy tube as I wanted something I can take away with me for when my skin gets really dry on holidays and just needs that extra boost! I find chlorine, sun and the fact that im allergic to suncream can leave my face feeling very tight and painful. I used this product after a few days of being on holiday and struggled after that to not use it everyday! Rather than simply washing away with water you sort of scrub intot he skin before it completely dries and the majority of it will come off and leave your skin feeling incredible. I wash the residue off with a muslin cloth.

Price:

£35.00
